Below are a few resources that we highly recommend for all grant seekers:
Candid Learning offers information and resources that are specifically designed to meet the needs of nonprofits worldwide in need of know-how for securing funding and operating effective organizations. You can register for webinars on perfecting your proposal, find self-paced e-learning on cultivating relationships with individual donors, and chat in real time with Candid’s reference staff.
Maryland Nonprofits works to promote a thriving and effective nonprofit sector in Maryland. Maryland Nonprofits is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a statewide membership association. Benefits of membership include access to educational resource materials, discounted workshops and conferences, discounts on products and services such as liability insurance and background checks, and representation in Annapolis and on Capitol Hill regarding the shared public policy priorities of Maryland’s nonprofit sector.
Grantmakers.io makes the machine-readable IRS 990 dataset usable for nonprofit professionals. This database allows you to see 4.8 million grants contained in the public IRS 990-PF dataset, including the names of the organizations foundations are funding, what they are giving money for (e.g., general support), and grant amounts.
Peak Proposals helps grant writers and staff at nonprofit organizations build their skills in the areas of identifying potential funders, managing the proposal process, and writing competitive proposals. Their website and social media accounts include resources to discover funding opportunities, tips and tools to help manage the proposal process; professional development information for grant writers; and courses and eBooks in the areas of prospect research, grant writing, and proposal management.
Enoch Pratt Free Library is a fantastic resource for grant seekers, thanks to their immense Grants Collection. Additionally, they offer free workshops at their various locations throughout Baltimore City. Residents of Harford County can benefit from this resource as well, as long as you have an e-card to the Harford County Library.
